THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE ARTWORK

Artists & credits

The new artwork in this visual refresh comes from named artists and historical collections. No AI image-generation outputs are included.

Photographic wood & stone

Dimitrios Savva — photography, and Rico Cilliers — processing, Wood Table 001. Rob Tuytel — Rock 01. Sourced from Poly Haven under CC0. Resized and converted to WebP, then shaded or tinted in CSS.

Match preview cards

Most cards and the collection centerpiece show screenshots of the actual games, using their existing board and piece artwork. Their example moves are validated by the games’ engines. The Shavari Go card combines a precise 13 × 13 vector board, its credited royal emblems, and the CC0 timber texture. Hikoro and Academy now use the wooden pieces supplied by the repository owner; the full Hikoro board uses the supplied wooden board.

The Valley Hunt

The opening card is a vector rendering of the game’s mirrored 5 × 12 starting position. Its distinct piece emblems are Game-icons.net icons, CC BY 3.0: Hound by Lorc (Dog), Archer by Delapouite (Hunter), Baby Face by Delapouite (Child), and Dragon Head by Lorc (Dragon). Background squares were removed; original glyph paths were retained.

Hikoro wooden pieces & board

Nineteen piece images and the full board were supplied by the repository owner on October 7, 2026. The original artist name and license were not supplied; attribution is pending confirmation. We do not claim authorship or an open license. The delivery copies are lossless and retain identical RGBA pixels. Source records.

Action emblems

Icons by Lorc and Delapouite, from Game-icons.net, CC BY 3.0. Opaque backgrounds removed; foregrounds recolored. Original path geometry retained. Individual source links are in the source manifest.

Panels, parchment & borders

Kenney — Fantasy UI Borders and UI Pack (RPG Expansion), CC0. cron — Old Parchment Paper, CC0.

Existing game artwork

Hikorüka’s existing emblems are by Lorc, Delapouite, and Willdabeast, CC BY 3.0. Shavari’s existing piece emblems are by Lorc and Delapouite, CC BY 3.0. See the Hikorüka and Shavari source records.

The garden board and flower illustrations were supplied in this repository. This refresh preserves them and makes smaller delivery copies. Their original artist attribution was not present in the repository; we do not claim authorship. The existing Shavari board inlay is project artwork carried forward from the prior version.

Shavari Go royal pieces

Game-icons.net emblems under CC BY 3.0: Delapouite’s Castle (Crownhold), Knight Banner (Standard-Bearer), War Pick (Sapper), Cavalry (Cavalier), Watchtower (Sentry), and Pikeman (Squire); Lorc’s Crown (High Marshal) and Crenulated Shield (Royal Guard); and Carl-Olsen’s Crossbow (Crossbowman). The backgrounds were removed and the foregrounds recolored for the game tokens. Source links and modifications are recorded in the Shavari Go credits manifest.

Prince Pai Sho piece icons

Piece emblems by Lorc and Delapouite from Game-icons.net, licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 (CC BY 3.0). The supplied SVG artwork is embedded in the game pieces and recolored for the player tokens.
